In canon, certain people, including the Warrior of Light, are blessed with an ability called the Echo. The primary feature of this gift is that they can resonate with other peoples' souls, allowing them to see glimpses into that person's past through their eyes--though they cannot alter or affect what they see in any way. Ultimately, it's just a vision. Here are some key things to know about the Echo:
1) The Warrior of Light can almost never deliberately trigger an Echo vision. It's very difficult for them, and is much more likely to occur unbidden. However...
2) The Echo often triggers when a person near to the Warrior is recalling a specific memory. This is the most common catalyst for an Echo vision, but is not the only one--the Echo can show memories even when there's no one around.
3) Memories seen through the Echo do not have to be from the recent past. In canon, there are Echo visions of memories from centuries, even millennia ago. In rare cases, the Echo can even show potential glimpses into the future.
4) The Warrior of Light is pretty much incapacitated when they are experiencing an Echo vision, which is often triggered by a sudden headache.
There are other things that the Echo grants--the ability to understand all spoken language, the ability to see otherwise-invisible entities, the ability to predict attacks before they occur, etc. but for the purposes of RP is not likely to come up all that often. The important thing to take away from this is that YOU (THE PLAYER) CAN HAVE YOUR CHARACTER TRIGGER AN ECHO VISION AT ANY TIME. If your character is threading with the Warrior of Light and you want them to experience a sudden exposition migraine, please feel free to do so! An Echo vision will never be forced upon someone OOCly, it is completely opt-in.
